Hi all!
These following pictures are representations of the 18 photography composition guidelines!
Simplicity
This is a tiny white mushroom I almost stepped on while walking around looking for things to photograph for my project, I literally stumbled over it. The plain white and green grass just make it so pretty in a simplistic way.
Rule of Thirds
Now this boy is one of the wonderful kids I babysit, they were the most willing models EVER!
If you split this picture along the thirds, he is on the far third.
Leading Lines
This is one of me favorite bridges in Rock Creek, I love how the path leads off and away from the viewers sight.
Curved Line
Although not one of my favorites I still like this bridge, I had to kneel down to get the right angle to get the curve of the opposite railing but, I caught the curve of the other railing!
Diagonal Lines
SCRUFFY
A wonderful picture of a bird, I know its some kind of hawk but I've completely forgotten what type.
Horizontal Lines
The upper part of the picture has a branch horizontally across over head.
Vertical Lines
This wonderful little model is the older sister of the young boy above (in Rule of Thirds), who I of corse babysit as well, she like her brother is a wonderful model, the railing of the staircase create vertical lines, that you can see her through.
Avoiding Mergers
This is the goof example of avoiding mergers
Again my little model poses for a picture with shadows avoiding any contact with her shadow and another shadow.
Bad Example
I added her little brother merging their shadows.
Balanced
A bench on the Capital Crescent Trail, I did my best to center the bench in the frame.
Unbalanced
Picture of a soccer weekend tournament of one the players on my sisters team in mid-kick
Framing
My willing model making a silly smile at me from inside! The window frame, frames her face.
Birds Eye View
The nice sweet dog, Phoebe. I angled down looking at her. You would not believe how hard or how long it took to get this one picture of this dog!
Aerial Perspective
A wonderful straight down view of this singular red flower that I saw off the side of the sidewalk
Worm's Eye View
A nice worm's eye view- looking up at the subject at an angle- of my puppy, Raya, who is now about 3 years old.
Close Up
Zoomed in on Phoebe's eye.
Tilt
The weekend soccer tournament, I took this picture on a tilt completely on accident!
Cluttered Background
Strong Center of Interest
The smart reader, just reading on the stairs, perfect for a photo, nothing distracting the viewer from looking straight at her.
